In appreciation of the vital work done at the grass-roots level by community based organizations, there was a Special Session of the XIX International AIDS Conference devoted to the Red Ribbon Award Winners for 2012. Participants in AIDS2012 came to the award ceremony held at 1:00 p.m. on 25 July 2012 to celebrate the RRA Winners for 2012 and their important work in their communities.

The names of the Red Ribbon Award Winners for 2012 were announced today to the audience of the First Plenary Session of the International AIDS Conference in Washington, DC, USA. The announcement was carried via live Web-feed worldwide.
